Have thee no shame, Jay Paterno?

the latest Paterno to sue Penn State

Jay said in today's lawsuit that the taint of the Sandusky scandal that occurred after the Freeh Report ruined his reputation,, effectively ending his career.

Really?

Here is the problem Jay, and Charlie Thompson of the Patriot-News explains it well.

"But here's the rub. Seven of the assistant coaches on Joe Paterno's last staff - all of whom presumably suffered the same Sandusky taint - are still working in college football, and most of them at major Division I collegiate programs. Even Jay Paterno's co-plaintiff, Kenney, has since been hired on the football staff at Western Michigan University, which competes in the Mid-American Conference."

The problem, Jay, is that you would never have coached at the Div. I level were it not for nepotism. Joe hired his son, even though he did not have the skills to hold the job. Eventually, the players on the team hated him.
Just ask Mike Mauti, the latest of the PSU linebackers playing in the NFL.
Dave Jones, a P-N columnist:, explains how the players on the Penn State team revolted against JayPa.
"John U. Bacon's upcoming book Fourth and Long is focused mainly on the 2012 season but includes references to 2011 to provide context and contrast. One of those is a story about Jay Paterno and several Nittany Lions engaging in a heated argument during halftime of the Illinois game in which at least two players attempted to physically confront the quarterbacks assistant.  Quoted at the end of the segment is Mike Mauti who says: “That dude was an example of everything a coach should not be.” [August 20, 2013] (bold and italicized added).
In essence, Jay, those players on the defense hated you. Why? Perhaps because you were lousy at your job. Other colleges know this, and after this suit, you will never even be hired as a volunteer coach for the State College Elementary School first and second grade squad.
The coaching fraternity is rather close, and other colleges are simply unwilling to hire someone who has no skills.
You became a coach only because of nepotism. Joe meant well when he hired you, and he obviously hoped that you might develop into a good coach.
That never happened.
Long-term defensive coordinator Tom Bradley is at West Virginia, and they are happy to have him. He was not tainted by this. Perhaps some schools backed off after the immediate sanctions were announced, but Tom was hired for one reason: He was a damn good coach, a damn good defensive coordinator, and a damn good recruiter.
The same cannot be said of you.
Larry Johnston is an assistant to Urban Meyer at Ohio State. No taint there.
If you think for one minute that any college or university would hire you after today's stunt with this lawsuit, you are delusional. Wick Sollers and his law firm are milking as much money from your father's estate as they can.
I feel sorry for your mother, Sue, who is a wonderful person.
I do not feel sorry for you. All of the money that PSU has to use defending this lawsuit comes from the athletic budget. Pretty soon, Jay, they will be cutting sports to pay for it.
As a Penn State alum, I would like to thank you for that effort.
